PLAN

My total is 148 minutes divided by 60 is 2 1/2 hours. Now I can plan how I will use each day from now until OCTOBER 11 to complete my project.
DAY 1 30 min - CHOSE DESING, BRAINSTORM CHARACTERS AND SKETCH PRODUCT.
DAY 2 10 min - ROUGH DRAFT OF PRODUCT
DAY 3 10 min - BEGAIN PRODUCT
DAY 4  5 min - FINISH PRODUCT
DAY 5 30 min -  BRAINSTORM TEST QUESTIONS
DAY 6 30 min-  GATHER 6TH GRADERS AND SHOW THEM FI˜AL PRODUCT AND TEST THEM
DAY 6 30 min- GRADE TEST AND CREATE MY CONCLUSION

DESIGN BRIEF

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
My requirements for this assignment is for 6th graders to understand the design cycle in the most simplest form to where they can understand it.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
There is many limitations to my assignment. For example, if I am doing the FlipBook if have already color, characters and background already there for me.
13. How will you "test" your project?
I will give them a mini quiz with at least 5 questions at the end of the presentation. I will be asking them the steps of the design cycle in order. The passing grade would be a 80% and higher.

INVESTIGATION REFLECTION

DESIGN SAMPLES
Sample 1 Design
For the first desgin I was thinking of just explaining the desgin cycle and see how it goes. In
my second design I was thinking of adding humor to it. maybe by starting off telling a story or something similar to it. On my third design I was thinking about trying to take turns on the speakers to get the person to understnad more.

On my investigation process I rate myself a 3-4 (75/ 85).
I have explained the problem and mentioned its relevance. I also investigated the the problem.  However I didnt fully complete my task.  However I did not achieve my goal because I could I have investigated and analyzed more.
I decided I wanted to do animation for my final project. I will be using "GoAnimate". This is a very easy and simple project I can do. It provides me a background, color, and characters.

INVESTIGATE

ComicMaster

I rated ComicMaster into 4 different categories. Backgrounds, characters, text, color.
My first rating in color I gave myself a 5 out of 5. This is the easiest job I think in doing the ComicMaster because everything you are already doing is with color already. This is helpful to me because I don't have to waste my time or worry about the background too much. There are various bright colors to use in designing the design cycle. However I may have a problem in choosing the right color to hook my audience. I may or may not distract them as much and I may or may not hook them as much as I want to.
The next category was characters. I gave myself a 1 out of 5. Characters would be a challenge for me. I need to find a way to actually explain myself through the drawing.  Thankfully ComicMaster has characters already build for you. I don't really have to waste my time in thinking what to use. However we have a limitation on characters and face expression. This might be a problem for me because I want to do various things with my characters and  have to limit myself.
In simplicity I gave myself a 4 out of 5. Simplicity might have to be my second easiest job for me when creating a comic book. The jobs in creating a comic book are really easy all you have to do is read each step carefully.  You can create one simple comic book in less than 6 minutes. It is almost like creating a movie. You have to use your design cycle steps to accomplish this comic book. Everything is already put there for you. I am confident in this section.
Last but not least entertainment. I gave myself a 3 out of 5. Entertaining the audience might be the hardest for me. I need to explain the design cycle to 6th graders and entertain them at the same time. However I need to find a way where they can learn the steps of the design cycle as well. I am not really that great in entertaining my audience but I shall try my best.
Overall my my total of points that I have received are 13 points in total.

I rated my flip book for a score of 1-5. On my backgrounds I gave myself a 4 because It is an easy job for me and I wont have trouble with it. My characters I gave myself a 2 because I may not fully draw out what I actually meant. On text I chose a 4 because I able to give a clear description on what I'm trying to say. On color I gave myself a 4 because I know the value on what I'm supposed to put in. My overall score is a 14 in total.

INVESTIGATE

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?
We use it in our daily lifes to bulid things.
3. How will this project serve my community?
It would make their life easier when wanting to create something.
4. How can my learning help my community?
My learning about the design cycle can help my community. If someone has a idea in creating something like a church we can get together and plan using the design cycle.
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
We are from grades kinder- 12.
6. How does this help others?
This helps others because they can come to anyone of us 9th graders for advice in the steps to take in creating something.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
My requirements for this assignment is to teach a 6th grader the design cycle to a point where they can understand it.
8. What is the Design Cycle?
The Design Cycle is a process you take to create something.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.

18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
